Which containers do you sell?+

10, 20, 40 and 45 ft units: standard dry, high cube, refrigerated, insulated, open side, open top, flat rack, plus site offices and storage units we fit out ourselves.

How fast can you deliver?+

Two to five working days after the deposit clears, anywhere in the EU. Germany, Austria and Benelux are usually 48 hours.

How do I pay?+

Bank transfer: 30% deposit to reserve the unit, the balance on delivery. Leasing and instalments are available on request from 24 months.

What do I need to prepare on site?+

A firm, level surface and clear access for a 16 m truck. Send us a photo of the approach and we will tell you which vehicle fits.

Can I see the unit before buying?+

Yes. Visit the depot by appointment, or ask for a video walkaround of the exact serial number — we film it the same day.

Sourcing, converting, moving and certifying is where a delivery goes right or wrong. We do all six in-house, with one person accountable for your order from first email to hand-over.

Buying used steel should not feel like a gamble.

Our founders spent years in freight forwarding watching customers receive units that looked nothing like the photos they had been sent. Rust on the roof. A floor that failed under a pallet truck. Papers missing.

So the rule here is simple: you buy the unit you were shown, with its serial number, its photos and its report. If it is not right, we say so before you pay — even if that loses the sale.

Choosing a unit

Which containers do you sell?+

10, 20, 40 and 45 ft units: standard dry, high cube, refrigerated, insulated, open side, open top, flat rack, plus site offices and storage units we fit out ourselves.

What is the difference between one-trip and used?+

A one-trip unit was built for a single voyage from Asia — effectively new, clean paint, no dents worth mentioning. A cargo-worthy used unit has 8 to 12 years of service: sound, watertight and certified, with cosmetic marks and patch repairs.

Which size fits my site?+

Allow the unit length plus roughly 12 m of clear approach for the truck. A 20 ft needs about 18 m of straight space to be set down, a 40 ft about 30 m. Send a photo of the access and we will confirm before you order.

Can you modify a container for me?+

Yes — doors, windows, insulation, electrics, partitions, shelving and paint in your colour, built in our own workshop in 2 to 4 weeks. You approve a drawing before we cut anything.

Do I need planning permission?+

Rules differ by municipality. In most German states a container used as temporary storage on private commercial land does not require a permit; permanent occupation as an office or dwelling usually does. Check with your local building authority — we are happy to supply drawings and weights for the application.

Delivery

How fast can you deliver?+

Two to five working days after the deposit clears, anywhere in the EU. Germany, Austria and Benelux are usually 48 hours.

Where do you deliver?+

Twelve countries as standard: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czechia, Denmark, Italy and Sweden. Elsewhere on request, including overseas by sea freight.

What do I need to prepare on site?+

A firm, level surface and clear access for a 16 m truck. Send us a photo of the approach and we will tell you which vehicle fits.

Who unloads the unit?+

We do. A sidelifter or crane truck sets the unit down where you want it, at no extra cost when the access allows it. If a mobile crane is needed we quote it in the offer, never afterwards.

Can I collect it myself?+

Yes, and it is free. Bring a suitable trailer and lifting arrangement to Hamburg or Duisburg, and we will load you in the same visit by appointment.

Payment & paperwork

How do I pay?+

Bank transfer: 30% deposit to reserve the unit, the balance on delivery. Leasing and instalments are available on request from 24 months.

Are prices net or gross?+

All listed prices are net, ex works from the depot, excluding VAT and transport. German VAT of 19 % applies unless you supply a valid EU VAT number for intra-community supply.

Do you sell to private individuals?+

Yes, for containers and accessories. Financing is offered to registered businesses only.

What documents come with the unit?+

Invoice, CSC plate details and serial number for containers; hour report, condition report and EU conformity papers for machines. Reefers include the PTI test result. Everything is emailed as PDF on the delivery day.

After the sale

Can I see the unit before buying?+

Yes. Visit the depot by appointment, or ask for a video walkaround of the exact serial number — we film it the same day.

What warranty do I get?+

Containers are sold wind and watertight as described, with 12 months against structural defects on new units. Machines carry a 3-month drivetrain warranty. Refurbished reefers include 6 months on the cooling unit.

Will you buy the unit back later?+

Usually yes, and we can fix the buy-back figure at the time of purchase so you know your exit value from the start. We also collect from your site.

Do you supply spare parts?+

Door gaskets, locking bars, hinges, floor panels, reefer components and machine filters — from stock or within a few days. Send us the serial number and a photo.

1 · Who is responsible

Box Office GmbH, Hafenstraße 14, 20359 Hamburg, Germany, is the controller for personal data processed through this website within the meaning of the GDPR. You can reach our data contact at {{ email }}.

2 · What we collect

Only what you send us. This site has no account system, no tracking pixels and no advertising cookies. When you use a contact button, your own email client sends us the name, company, email, phone number, country and message you typed.

3 · Why we process it

To answer your enquiry, prepare an offer, arrange delivery and meet our commercial record-keeping duties. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual and contractual steps, and Art. 6(1)(c) for statutory retention.

4 · Who else sees it

Only parties needed to fulfil your order: the haulier delivering to you, our depot partner, our accountant, and our email host. We never sell data and we do not transfer it outside the EU or the EEA without a valid transfer mechanism.

5 · How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted after 12 months. Order documentation is kept for ten years as required by German commercial and tax law.

6 · Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to {{ email }} and we will answer within one month. You may also complain to the Hamburg data protection authority.

7 · Hosting and logs

Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, for security and troubleshooting. Those logs are deleted or anonymised after 30 days.

Terms of sale

1 · Scope

These terms apply to all sales, rentals and services by Box Office GmbH. Deviating conditions of the buyer only apply where we have accepted them in writing.

2 · Offers and prices

Prices shown on this website are indicative, net, ex works from the named depot, and exclude VAT and transport. A binding price exists only in a written offer, valid for 14 days, referring to a specific serial number.

3 · Payment

A 30 % deposit is due on order confirmation and reserves the unit. The balance is due before or on delivery, unless a financing agreement states otherwise. Ownership passes on full payment.

4 · Delivery

Delivery windows are estimates given in good faith. The buyer must provide safe, firm and legal access for the agreed vehicle. Waiting time or a failed delivery caused by site conditions is charged at cost.

5 · Condition and warranty

Used goods are sold in the condition documented in the inspection report and photographs supplied before purchase. Statutory warranty rules for used goods apply; new containers carry 12 months against structural defects, machines 3 months on the drivetrain.

6 · Use and permits

Obtaining any planning, building or operating permit is the buyer's responsibility. We supply drawings, weights and technical data on request to support an application.

7 · Governing law

German law applies, excluding the CISG where legally possible. Place of jurisdiction for merchants is Hamburg.
